Catering business case

North Glamorgan Trust (Contact: Alan Lewis, Head of Facilities)

1 April 2003

The provision of catering services vary across the trust, providing both traditional and cook chill/freeze production. The type of patient service also is also different on the various sites. Most of the catering facilities are original and have had no significant investment since being installed. Most of the equipment has poor operational performance and is expensive to run, maintain and repair. The general building fabric is also of poor design and all areas require major upgrade to conform to environmental hygiene regulations. The provision of good quality catering services by the trust is, therefore, a critical factor in the delivery of key clinical services.
