The recruitment, training and retention of good quality staff is fundamental to the trust’s ability to meet its operational objectives. The provision of good quality accommodation and social facilities by the trust is a critical factor in the recruitment and retention of key clinical staff.The quality of the existing accommodation is poor and the demand for accommodation exceeds the supply. The analysis of anticipated demand indicates the need to upgrade and replace the existing sub-standard accommodation and to provide additional married and single accommodation. The business case identified the objectives and constraints that needed to be met were as follows:- to meet the anticipated demand for accommodation- to meet the requirements of the BMA’s Hospital Accommodation Charter- to provide accommodation and social facilities which are attractive to potential employees
