The report from this review provides an overview of the current demands on orthopaedic services in Bro Taf in relation to emergency trauma. It identifies preventative measures that could contribute to a reduction in demandThe report focuses on children in 5-19 age group and the elderly as these groups suffer the highest number of fractures in Bro Taf proportionate to other age groups. Evidence of effective interventions has been sought in these key areas and recommendations for preventative intervention have been given. The report concludes with recommendations to reduce fractures in Bro Taf. There are both long term and short term measures that could be implemented
