Overview:

Julie Bailey, Founder of Cure the NHS, tells her story about her mother’s care and her role as an expert witness at the Francis Public Inquiry into Mid-Staffordshire Hospital. 

She poses three key questions:

►    Why does poor care occur?

►    What can organisations do about it?

►    What can individual managers do about it?

That is followed by considering how to address institutional coercion and resist the pressure to conform.
